As “this may take a considerable amount of time”, releasing names could hinder the release of restatements to market.
It said it would only consider naming partners whose failings may have led to the need for material changes in reports if doing so wouldn’t delay the timely release of financial restatements.
Dr Leigh was one of the Labor politicians to call on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to investigate the big four consulting firms, Deloitte, EY (formerly Ernst & Young), KPMG and PwC, for cartel conduct last year. The competition watchdog declined to do so.
